Edward J. Boland Financial Assistance Fund

Supporting Educators During Times of Extraordinary Hardship

Edward J. Boland Financial Assistance Fund

The Edward J. Boland Financial Assistance Fund provides critical financial support to active members of the Connecticut Education Association who are experiencing extraordinary or catastrophic personal circumstances. Established in 1987 and named in honor of Edward J. Boland, a devoted educator and respected colleague, the fund reflects a deep commitment to caring for those who serve Connecticut’s public schools.

Grants from the Boland Fund help educators facing severe financial strain due to situations such as serious illness, unforeseen disasters, or other significant hardships that create an overwhelming financial burden. By offering timely assistance, the fund helps educators focus on recovery and stability during some of life’s most difficult moments.

Requests for assistance are accepted throughout the year and are reviewed with care and confidentiality. Through the Boland Fund, the Connecticut Education Foundation reinforces its commitment to supporting educators not only as professionals, but as people.
