Through scholarships, emergency assistance, and programs that address basic needs, CEF helps remove barriers to learning and supports the next generation of teachers. Since 2016, CEF has awarded scholarships, provided essential items to thousands of students, and helped educators facing extraordinary hardships. Every contribution directly strengthens public education and ensures students have the resources they need to thrive.
The Boland Fund provides critical financial grants to CEA members facing extraordinary personal hardships, such as serious illness or unforeseen disasters. By offering timely support during catastrophic circumstances, the fund helps educators focus on recovery and stability. Requests are accepted year-round and are always handled with the strictest confidentiality.
CEF oversees two scholarship funds that support high school and college students planning to become educators in Connecticut. These scholarships ease financial burdens and help aspiring teachers stay focused on their academic goals. Since 2016, CEF has awarded 52 scholarships totaling $104,000, investing directly in the future of the education profession.
The Children’s Fund provides essential items such as clothing, food, medicine, eyeglasses, and hearing aids to students whose families are unable to afford them. Since 2016, this fund has supported 4,105 students and has distributed $150,642 to help educators purchase necessary items that remove barriers to learning.
